CALM, EXPERIENCED SUPPORT AS YOU STEP INTO PARENTHOOD
BIRTH AND POSTNATAL DOULA CARE ROOTED IN COMPASSION, WISDOM, AND DEEP LISTENING.
I’m Sassi, an experienced birth and postpartum doula supporting families across Sussex, Surrey, Ibiza and online. I offer calm, knowledgeable support so you feel clearer and truly held during one of life’s biggest transitions.
You don’t have to navigate this journey alone.
WHAT DOES A DOULA DO?
Traditionally, doulas support families through pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal period, offering emotional reassurance, practical help and steady guidance.
At its heart, though, doula work is about nurturing the whole person.
For me, being a doula means holding space without judgement. Listening deeply. Knowing when to sit quietly beside you, and when to gently step forward with the support that helps you reconnect with your own strength.
A doula doesn’t replace medical care. She walks alongside it. Most importantly, she walks alongside you.
I will help you:
understand your options
feel confident asking questions
stay steady during labour
rest and recover after birth
settle into life with your baby feeling supported
trust your instincts as you step into your own parenthood
feel heard, nurtured and supported
SASSI TAME - BIRTH, POSTNATAL, LIFE DOULA AND MENTOR
MEET SASSI
With 30+ years of experience, I’ve supported over 700 families through birth and the early weeks of parenthood, and I also mentor new doulas stepping into this role.
My journey into this work began when I was 18, working within different roles in the NHS maternity system, including as a student midwife, before later supporting families privately as a practising doula.
I’ve seen how transformative steady support can be - and how overwhelming it can feel without it.
I consider myself a practical, grounded presence. Part experienced professional, part calm pair of hands, part steady voice when you need one.
Parents have said: “..it felt like having an angel walk through the door right when I needed it most.”
CLIENT LOVE
“I feel I have been able to build up my confidence to go out and do things with my daughter with her support…”

YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED.

Holistic support is at the heart of how I work and it means supporting the whole of your experience - emotionally, practically and physically.
As your doula or your mentor, I support not only your pregnancy, birth or postpartum recovery or your work as a doula, but the whole of you - your emotions, your beliefs and your evolving identity.
I offer grounded, practical help alongside calm, non-judgemental space, so you feel informed, steady and deeply supported.
My role is not to lead or fix, but to help you reconnect with your own wisdom and strength - so you move through this time feeling confident, capable and truly supported.
-
You’re welcome to reach out at any stage of your journey. 🤍
For birth companion support, it’s ideal to get in touch as soon as you feel ready. The more time we have before your labour begins, the more opportunity we have to get to know each other. That said, if your labour has already started and you feel in need of doula support, I will happily join you on the day if I am available.
For home help or postpartum support, booking in advance helps to secure dates that work best for you. However, if I have availability, I will always do my best to accommodate your needs.
Online support is beautifully flexible and can be either spontaneous or planned in advance.
-
Unless you have a planned date from your care providers, the exact birthday of your baby is rarely predictable. As your birth doula, I will hold a window of physical availability from around your 38th week of pregnancy until your baby arrives. This window of time is known as the ‘On-call period’.
During this time, I adapt my personal plans to ensure I am contactable and within a reachable distance to you, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so I can be with you when required, without unnecessary delay.
Being On-call means I will ensure that I:
Have my doula bag packed.
Have transport prepared (route planned, fuel in the car, etc.)
Keep my phone on and accessible for you 24/7.
Refrain from recreational activities that could affect my ability to attend you when called upon.
In the unlikely event that I am unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances, I will always endeavour to help arrange trusted alternative support. We will also discuss in advance how and when to contact me as labour begins, so you feel clear, confident, and supported.
-
Absolutely 🤍
As an Interior Stylist and Painter/Decorator, my practical home help and preparation can be a stand alone service to help anyone who could use an extra pair of hands.
Please feel free to contact me to discuss in more detail.
-
Yes.
Any costs associated with your support are in addition to my fees.
These might include things like travel: i.e. fuel at 45p per mile, or public transport costs, parking charges, or admission fees if I am accompanying you on an outing, etc.
-
When I am in the UK, my in-person support is available across Sussex, Surrey, and parts of London.
Ibiza is small by comparison, and I live centrally, so when I am there I am available for in-person support across the island.
The frequency and duration of my time in each country is mostly determined by me, so availability is rarely an issue when you need support. 🤍
If you feel drawn to working together but are unsure whether we need to meet in person, please contact me, and we can explore whether online support might be a helpful option for you.
-
Yes 🤍
Supporting a new family can take many forms. If you’d love to gift a new mother something truly meaningful but aren’t sure what would feel most helpful, offering time with an experienced doula can be a beautiful and deeply appreciated gesture.
You can gift a block of hours at £35 per hour for her to use in whatever way feels right for her, or you may choose to purchase one of my existing packages.
Please get in touch, and I’ll be happy to help you arrange this.
-
Yes 🤍
I understand that preparing for a baby is a significant investment. I’m very happy to discuss bespoke packages and flexible payment structures to help ensure you can access the support you need.
-
That’s very common. Many families aren’t sure exactly what support will feel most helpful at first. A discovery call is simply a chance for us to talk things through and explore what might feel right for your family.
-
Choosing the right doula is a very personal decision, and it’s important that you feel comfortable and at ease.
That’s why I offer a free discovery call- it gives us a chance to meet, talk through your hopes for your birth or postpartum time, and see whether we feel a good fit for one another.
There is absolutely no pressure to book afterwards. My priority is that you feel supported by the right person for you.
Whether I’m supporting a family or mentoring a new doula, the relationship is built on trust, so feeling aligned is really important.
